UPDATE 15 JANUARY 2009....ALITALIA HAS BEEN BOUGHT BY A GROUP OF ITALIAN BUSINESSMEN FOR 1.02 BILLIONS EURO WITH 25% MINORITY SHARE GOING TO THE AIR FRANCE-KLM GROUP.
Is anybody going to save this majestic airline from
going under?
For over 50 years the world was used to see this magnificent airlines trot it's colours flying to 5 continents.
But with Globalisation, rationalisation, and fiscal and monetary turbulences encountered in all business facets, Alitalia, like other defunct airlines, who fought from going under, is now fighting for it's own survival.
The KLM-Air France, rescue team was unable to grab Alitalia and hence, with the resignation of it's executive, it is now left in limbo and hoping that it will be rescued, sooner rather than later. going under?
